Standard Size Measuring Guide
When you place your order, you’ll be asked to fill in your measurements for our seamstresses. Here’s how to take your measurements properly:
- · Use a fabric tape measure. A metal tape measure can buckle and bend, which may lead to an inaccurate measurement of your size.
- · Keep the tape measure taut, but don’t stretch it tight.
- · Wear the same undergarments that you will wear on your wedding day. If you can’t, wear a style similar to what you plan to wear.
- · Wear the same shoes that you will wear on your wedding day. If you can’t, wear shoes with the same heel height you plan to wear.
- · Keep your feet six inches apart.
A perfect-fitting dress starts with perfect measurements. Before ordering a made-to-measure dress from Crystalweddingdresses.com, we strongly encourage finding a professional local tailor who can help you measure accurately. Here, we’ll show you which measurements are needed and how to correctly take them.
* Warning: measuring yourself at home is trickier than you think! For best results, always have your measurements taken by a professional local tailor.
Bust:Use a new fabric measuring tape, because an old one maybe stretched. And bring it around your back and across your nipple line (typically the fullest part of the breast). Your arms should be relaxed, down at your sides. When measuring your bust, you are not measuring your bra size! Measure the fullest part of your chest OVER the bra cup. Try to wear the bra or undergarment you are intending to use with the dress for a more accurate measurement.
Waist:Bring the tape 1 inch above your belly button or bend to the right or left to find your natural waist. Measure around the most narrowest part of your body. Your waist is measured where the measuring tape is sitting. Be sure not to suck in your stomach, and leave one finger under the tape so that you are able to breathe in your dress.
Hips:Measure yourself with your feet close together, bring the tape around the widest part of your hips, right across the hip bone. Another way of measuring your hips is, place your palms on your true waist, and let your fingers hang down. The tips of your fingers should be about where the fullest part of your hips is(approximately 7 inches below to the natural waistline).
Hollow to Floor:Hollow to floor size is needed when you ordering a standard dress. Please stand upright and keep your feet together. Please don’t wear any shoes. Take the tape from your front and start from your hollow( the hollow is just under your neck, between your collarbones) to the floor. If you order long dresses, we usually add 7 cm which is default as your heels height to your hollow to floor.
For Long Dress: length = Hollow to Floor (Barefoot measurement) + 7cm (default as your heels height)
For Short Dress: We’ll make the short dress’s length the same as picture according to standard body proportion.
